Smart Security

At the heart of radar’s application in camera-based security systems lies “precise triggering and range-based alerting.” It endows cameras with “long-distance sensing capabilities,” addressing the pain points of traditional cameras—such as “blind-spot imaging” and “post-event retrospective analysis”—and enabling proactive security through “preemptive warnings and precise capture during events.”

Typical applications

Smart door lock

Smart door lock

Radar technology enables proximity-based wake-up, automatic recognition, and occupancy detection in smart door locks. When a user approaches, the door lock automatically lights up the screen and initiates facial recognition. If someone lingers for an extended period in front of the door, the system automatically issues a warning. Compared to infrared or camera-based detection methods, radar offers non-contact operation, low power consumption, and enhanced privacy. It also provides stable performance and more accurate recognition, helping security systems make the transition from “passive defense” to “proactive sensing.”

Advantages

Close to waking up

Close to waking up

The user doesn’t need to manually touch the device—simply approach the door lock, and the screen will automatically light up and facial recognition will start.

The radar enables precise distance detection and effectively avoids issues such as door lock misidentification caused by fingerprint wear or optical sensor interference from strong light. It supports setting an adjustable sensing range (e.g., 1–3 meters in front of the door), ensuring that the system only triggers a response when a person enters the valid zone—thus neither missing visitors nor compromising the user experience.
Contactless interaction enhances ease of use.

Contactless interaction enhances ease of use.

The function can be triggered without any physical contact—for example, when you’re carrying heavy items in both hands on your way home, the radar sensor detects your approach and automatically activates the door lock’s unlock interface (such as lighting up the facial recognition area) or triggers the doorbell to ring or sends an indoor alert, eliminating the hassle of “searching for keys and pressing the doorbell.” This feature is especially suitable for special scenarios—such as when elderly individuals have limited mobility or children are too short to reach the doorbell. Thanks to the radar’s long-range sensing capability (typically 1–3 meters), it can easily detect your presence from a distance, significantly lowering the barrier to use.

It can monitor abnormal conditions at the door in real time—for example, when someone lingers at the door for an extended period (exceeding a preset duration, such as 30 seconds) or makes physical movements while attempting to pick the lock. The radar can trigger the door lock to sound an alarm or send an alert notification to the mobile app, enabling “proactive protection” rather than merely passive unlocking, thus balancing security and convenience.
Strong environmental adaptability, stable and reliable

Strong environmental adaptability, stable and reliable

Unaffected by light, temperature, or weather conditions—whether exposed to intense sunlight, heavy rain, or extreme temperatures (such as -10℃ in winter or 50℃ in summer)—the radar’s sensing accuracy remains consistently high. In contrast, traditional optical doorbells and fingerprint locks tend to fail under extreme environmental conditions. With strong anti-interference capabilities, the device is not affected by electronic signals such as mobile phone or WiFi signals, ensuring stable operation of door unlocking and doorbell activation. This makes it particularly well-suited for commercial venues (such as shops) or complex residential environments.
